When Effective Property Solutions (EPS) first sponsored the Perth Football Club four years ago, the Burswood-based specialist Perth property firm knew it was backing an underdog.
But with the Demons securing their first top three finish in nearly 30 years this season, a WA Football League premiership is now within reach, says EPS founder and Demons Board member Erwin Edlinger.
“It’s been phenomenal to watch Perth Football Club rebuild over time and especially to see its success accelerate in the pasts four years that we’ve been an official part of their community,” explains Mr Edlinger.
“This is the Demons’ best home-and-away season result since 1997 and as a sponsor and a long-time Australian rules football devotee, this historic milestone is very meaningful to me and all of the Club’s faithful supporters.”
Mr Edlinger first began giving back to the Club over a decade ago.
“I was recommended by one of their Board members and became the Perth Demons District Chair in 2015 before taking on an Associate Director role on the Board two years ago,” he said.
“I’ve always loved AFL football at all levels and played 400 games, from colts to amateurs to masters.”
Many of those games were with Manning Rippers Football Club, where Mr Edlinger was President for a time and a Premiership player.
“Manning Rippers is a major feeder club to the Perth Demons, so aligning with them was an authentic way for me and the wider team at EPS to give back to the community,” he explained.
The Club’s home ground, Mineral Resources Park in Lathlain, is also just minutes from EPS’ headquarters in Burswood.
“Perth Football Cub has had a very tough run for a long time, so to see this level of success for their loyal members now is incredibly thrilling,” said Mr Edlinger.
Securing a third spot finish now gives the Demons a double chance in the finals.
This Saturday, September 5, they face East Perth in a Qualifying Final at Mineral Resources Park in Lathlain.
